The S&C Brand Audit

Are you telling the right story?

Why an Audit?

Your brand is everything people think and feel about your organization.

You can’t change your brand by changing your logo. You can change it by understanding where those thoughts and beliefs come from.

A brand audit tells you what people believe, why, and what it would take to shift it.

Let's Talk

Who is an audit for?

A brand audit is perfect when you’re dealing with one of these common scenarios:

Your story isn't landing

You’re not sure if you don’t have the right story or don’t really understand your audiences.

Your marketing efforts have stalled

You’re not sure if you have the right foundations, or you want to know what steps to take next.

You need to get people aligned internally.

Your strategy, leadership, or programs have changed, and the brand hasn’t caught up.

You need a brand refresh but need to make a business case

You need to know a reasonable budget for a brand redesign or you want to write an RFP and need help.

How does it work?

From kickoff to delivery, the audit typically takes 1 month.

Gather information

First, we collect the working pieces of your brand: collateral, communications, marketing, your website, your social presence, and the other channels where you show up. We review everything you know about your audiences, your peers, and your goals.

Do an assessment

Then we look at how the brand actually lands, the way your audiences encounter it, across all of it at once rather than piece by piece.

Do a discovery session

We ask what’s working, what isn’t, and why, and we listen for the things that don’t show up in the materials: the history, the internal misalignments, the vision, differences in perspective that could be re-aligned in this work, the lack of narrative clarity. We’re good at listening and quickly articulating what’s really going on. This session on its own can be incredibly illuminating for a team.

Write and deliver the report

Finally, we deliver the findings and set up any followup conversations to discuss where to go next.

What do we get?

You’ll receive an insights report covering the areas below.

Goals and challenges

Your real strengths, the gaps holding you back, and the opportunities worth chasing

Audience and positioning

How well you know your audiences, and whether you have a position that genuinely sets you apart from your peers

Brand foundations

Whether your mission, vision, values, and voice are clear, consistent, and actually shaping the work

Brand expression

How audiences perceive and experience you, whether your voice and visual identity send the message you intend, and whether it holds together across channels or falls apart between them

Prioritized opportunities and roadmap

What to tackle and in what order, a realistic timeline and cost estimate, and language to help make the case to leadership
